Overwhelmed By Love

Good Morning!

We have snow lingering here in our town and once again our schools are closed.  As I begin to read the notes and posts from last night....I am overwhelmed!  The donations have reached over $10,000.00.  The outpouring of love is amazing and only from God.  I can hardly write for the tears that are in my eyes.  Each one of you is a precious soul that God has lead to help "the least".  I never dreamed that I would be given this opportunity and I am so thankful that I get to be a small part in this effort.  God amazes me everyday and I so want to live a life for him. I cannot express our gratitude as a family.  I would love to write each of you a note, so please post comments on this blog.  I heard yesterday that even Mac Powell of Third Day made a donation. My heart sings with joy for the love of God's people is definitely in the air!

I believe today, Davids' social worker will deliver pictures of our family and tell him that a family wants him.  I am very nervous and ask that pray surround him as he is once again given a promise of a "Forever Family."  I can only imagine what this child has felt and experienced through this disappointment.....,but pray that he will find great joy in knowing that a family is waiting to love, protect, guide, educate, cry with,  laugh with, cheer for, discipline, understand, forgive, regret, and hope for, as long as God provides. Join with me today in this specific prayer for the social worker and for this special child that waits for a family.

Love,
Penny

  1. Good Good Good morning! Awwwh you have brought tears to my eyes! It is neat to see how God moves his people for others. There is still love out there! I wish we all could be there to see Davids face when hears that he in deed has a family and God is still a Good God! I pray he does not give up on hope but we pray that he gains strength during this time. God has moved mighty mountains for this young and for the family to financially go and get him! Nothing is impossible for God!Looking forward to seeing updates!

  2. I was so excited yesterday to read that huge donation number!!! I only hope and pray that Davids heart can accept the news when he hears that another family wants and loves him. I hope they let him know how many total strangers are coming together to raise money to bring him home to his family. I hope that through his recent hurt he is still able to trust and believe, but even if he isn't he will HAVE to believe when you and your husband show up and make him yours forever! I hope you are able to let him know how many lives his story has touched and how special we all know he is.

  3. The first thing I thought about this morning was that I needed to check and see the latest on Davids! And Peters too. My goodness, let's not forget about him :) Two fabulous boys coming home. I will be praying that your facilitator will have the perfect words of encouragement to share with Davids so that he can relax and enjoy thinking about his very immediate future! Do you know when Peters will find out about having a brother? Praying he will be excited too!

  4. Good Morning friends!

I apeak with Peter about every 2 weeks. I will praying that God will give me the words to explain this to him. I hope that maybe they might have met on the plane last summer. Peters was also hosted last summer. I am praying that we will have travel plans soon! Waiting each day for information. I now know that God had Davids in the plan, so we needed to wait jusst a bit so that we could be his forever family!

Will you be updating on FB as well? Can more of us send a friend request or can you open a FB page just for updates? Don't want to overwhelm you with 'requests' from total strangers.

  24. I'm so glad you started a blog so we could all meet you. To be honest I see dozens of "urgent" requests for children to find homes for this reason or that but for some reason Davids story hit me like NO other. Maybe that he's blonde, blue-eyed and likes Legos like my 11 year old. Not really sure but God really pricked my heart over this one and his story has touched so many people's hearts as I've shared it on my blog and Facebook. I don't know how many of them donated but many that left comments were unexpected - not adoptive parents, but just old high school friends, etc.

It gives me chills that someday maybe you can show Davids what happened to help bring him home and how God's love shone through SO many people.

I can't wait to follow your journey and hear more about Davids and Peter. Thank you for hearing God's voice and choosing to follow!

  25. Penny, I am unable to search for people on FB. I don't know what the glitch is, but I'd love to follow you there. I am Tanya Robinson. My picture is of my newly adopted daughter from China making a crazy face. :-) Beware. Some Tanya Robinson's seem to be shady. Don't search for me with littles in the room! :-( I'm not shady, just fyi. :-)

Mr Davids does not even know not only does he have a forever family now, he has quite the fan club! Congrats

  35. Our whole family has been praying all week for Davids to find a home- you cannot know what joy you brought to a family of 12 by choosing to obey God. We will pray for you every step of the way!

  36. WOW! Such an AMAZING story! One of faith, obedience and evidence that God loves EVERY SINGLE ONE of His children! Your family's story is so inspiring! How great is our God that He orchestrated the details to even have you approved for TWO children ~ before you even knew you would be bringing home two children! We are building our family through adoption and it just warms my heart to watch God protect and provide for Davids. Such a beautiful reminder that He holds all of His children in the palm of His loving hand! :)

May Davids heart be open and able to accept your love as well as the love of his Heavenly Father. We will continue our prayers for all of you! SO thankful you have this blog so we can follow along on your journey to both of your precious sons! GODSPEED!

  37. It's so exciting to see God's plan unfold! I was contacted by a friend in Texas on Monday, asking me to help find Davids a family. Unfortunately, I was extremely ill, along with most members of my family, and I was not able to get the info out on my blog. Tonight, as the fog is lifting and me and my family are beginning to breathe again after all having RSV, I saw that Davids story is scattered all over the place, on tons of blogs and Fb! WOW, so neat to see that your social worker called you about him!!! (Did you even see his story on everyone's blogs and Facebook?!?) I just love seeing God at work, knowing your family was already Davids' family, putting everything together in perfect timing. Thank you for your obedience, and may God richly bless you on this adventure! (We have 10 kiddos, 7 adopted. We know the blessings that come through living out James 1:27!) So happy for you!!!

  38. I got linked to here, because I was following the story on another blog. PRAISE GOD! Thank you for being such a humble servant of God and walking in obedience to His call for us to love the poor, widowed, orphaned and desperate!

  39. Dear Penney and family, you have touched my heart! I'm delighted to have had the opportunity to pray for Davids this week and pitch in a little money, and I have been reminded of God's faithfulness through the wonderful things I've seen worked out for Davids and the rest of your family. After I learned that Davids had a family who wanted him, I have been absolutely delighted each time I checked the donation totals, praising God for providing for you as you stepped out in faith to care for this young man. I am also very grateful to be able to hear from you (via the blog) and to hopefully follow your story. (I am an adoptive mother [dometically] and have a cousin and two nieces [Chinese] who were adopted. I have been very blessed by adoption, not to mention my adoption into God's family.)

I will be praying for all of you in many ways but especially that Peters and Davids will come to know God's love and become His children too. And, if we never meet up on this earth, believe me I'm gonna be lookin' y'all up in heaven. I want to give you some hugs!

  41. We also are international adoptive parents and saw Davids' story on FB and friend's blogs and our hearts were broken for him. After many tears and much prayer we were elated to hear about your family and happy to donate to help you get him home. I pray that he knows when they tell him about you that you are the family that GOD always knew he belonged to. God Bless You for taking that leap of faith for one of the least of these!

  42. I am currently volunteering with orphans in Ukraine. I hear every day about kids desperate for a family yet there was something about Davids story that really grabbed a hold of my heart and it has been my privilege to give and to pray... So glad that God has chosen you to be this sweet boy's family and I pray that he would be surrounded by the overwhelming love of God as he waits for you to bring him home.
